Guidelines for Typists
- An article will be sent to you in the form of multiple scanned pages or one
or more audio files. The article will have a unique name (look at the email
subject line or the top of the first page). Use this to name the file you
prepare also.
- Each set of scanned pages are to be converted to a single text file
(.txt, prepared using Gedit or Notepad++ or something, not RTF/DOC files).
- Just put an extra empty line between paragraphs.
- Do not use Tab or additional spaces to start the first line of a
paragraph.
- Use asterisk in the beginning of each list item.
- When you see TODO in the source text, type that exactly.
- When you don't understand a word, use TODO for that also.
- The text must be in UTF-8 (if you don't know what that means, submit a sample
text and ask if it is okay).
- Must pass the typing checklist
See the sample below. It has three paragraphs that are separated by
a blank line in between (meaning you have to press Enter twice to end
a paragraph).
Text is always replaced with icons, the universal language, but they are
oversimplified to the point that everything is a circle, triangle or a
rectangle (Euclid must be proud).
